Dhulwa/Banksia re leaf – art exhibition

Inspiring, informing and connecting people to Australian flora is at the heart of this project, a solo exhibition of ceramic works by Amanda Andlee Poland. 

Banksias demonstrate strong connection to the land and their leaves symbolise strength, diversity and hope; some vessels are carved deeply and others are embellished with shallow relief. 

The forms relate to memories of Banksias and include urns, vases to display specimens, and plaques and vessels that hint of personal and cultural moments.   

The artist will be carving in the Gallery at various times throughout the exhibition.
